BAMSL's professional staff consists of an executive director, five department directors, and support staff. Combined they represent over 200 years of service to BAMSL. Each employee was chosen for his or her expertise and has subsequently been cross-trained in other areas to develop a depth of knowledge to be valuable to the leadership and members of BAMSL. Executive Director
Zoe W. Lyle

Responsibilities:
Handles the overall management of the organization, overseeing all staff and operations.  Chief liaison between the Board of Governors and the staff.  In conjunction with the Board of Governors, involved with strategic and financial planning and the overall direction of the organization.  Responsible for the general content and execution of all events.  Attends all Executive Committee and Board of Governors meetings along with special events, i.e.  Bench & Bar Conference, Law Day, Senior Lawyers' Luncheon, Welcome to the Bar, Holiday Party, etc.  Oversees the general content  and quality of the monthly St. Louis Lawyer, the weekly e-Newsletter Blasts, and the BAMSL website.

Education & Member Services, Director
Alexander L. Braitberg

Responsibilities:
Creates and administers Continuing Legal Education (CLE) programs; provides support to committee and section chairs, speakers and members to ensure successful programs; arranges social events; crafts promotional materials. Attends Board of Governors meetings and assists with strategic planning. Is the primary contact for third party information technology and telecommunication providers. Supervises, trains and coordinates tasks and workflow for Education and Member Services department.

Christina Grove

Responsibilities:
Plans and administers Continuing Legal Education (CLE) seminars including site and travel arrangements, registration, brochures, seminar  materials, audio-visual equipment, certificates and evaluations.  Administers and attends committee and section meetings. Assists in coordinating and overseeing all Spring and Fall Enrollment Ceremonies. Submits CLE promotional ads/articles for St. Louis Lawyer, as needed. Performs additional duties as assigned by the department director or the executive director.

Education & Member Services, Administrative Assistant/Receptionist
Lucia H. Patterson

Responsibilities:
Administrative Assistant: Supports Executive Director & Administrative Services Coordinator; assists Director of Education & Member Services as needed.  Assists others as needed in event planning, set-up and execution.   
Receptionist: First point-of-contact for all callers; provides resource information to all callers; transfers callers to other staff members when requested or to provide them with additional expertise;  communicates office management information to all staff; maintains master filing system, maintains and updates the master calendar; and provides general clerical functions as needed.

Administrative Coordinator
Delores Willis

Responsibilities:
Coordinates and administers the following programs and processes:   Fee Dispute Program;  Annual Election; John Shepherd Professionalism Award;   Annual Golf Outing; Project Angel Tree.  Coordinates and produces welcome packets for the Bench & Bar and ensures that registration process is efficient.  Assists and supports other social and special events, as needed.  Assists with receptionist duties, when requested.

Financial Administration, Director
Kelley R. Young

Responsibilities:
Oversees all financial operations of the Bar Association and the Bar Foundation:  manages the budgets, reviews budget variances and targets problem areas and trends; performs balance sheet, cash flow and P & L account analyses; submits invoicing and statements to the membership, addresses invoicing concerns; prepares financial statements including statement of financial position, profit  & loss statements, statement of cash flow, and budget to actual reports; provides support for the annual external audit; and ensures that the Association is in compliance with GAAP and SOX.  For internal staff:  coordinates health and life insurance plans; monitors timesheets and handles payroll.  Attends the monthly Board of Governors' meetings and the Bar Foundation meetings.  Involved with strategic financial planning and investment and improving fiscal health and growth.

Financial Administration, Assistant Director
Rozann Robinson

Responsibilities:
Assists with financial planning, budgeting process and financial forecasting.  Supports the preparation of financial statements including statement of financial position, profit & loss statements, statement of cash flow, and budget to actual reports. Maintains Association books to ensure activity is accurately captured in monthly financial statements.  Handles accounts payable and provides support for the annual external audit.

Law-Related Education Coordinator
Stephen Campbell

Responsibilities:
Plans and executes the following special events: Mock Trial; Teens Speak Out; Speaker's Bureau; Senior Lawyers' Luncheon; Law Clerks' Luncheon.  Creates promotional pieces and the required event material for the above events. Assists in the coordination and execution of the Golf Tournament , Law Day and the Bench & Bar Conference.  Creates and distributes all materials required for the events in addition to required administrative functions.  Creates and submits advertisements to the St. Louis Lawyer, as needed  Provides administrative assistance and attends all Board of Governors' meetings; supports CLE events, as needed  Assists with the layout functions of the St. Louis Lawyer.  Provides back-up support for the mailroom.

Lawyer Referral & Information Service, Director
Lael Richter Simon, Esq.

Responsibilities:

Manages the Lawyer Referral and Information Service (LRIS), including supervision of the LRIS assistant and determining the needs of the attorney members and general public while promoting a positive image of the legal profession.  Daily tasks include answering phone and email inquiries from the public and referring to attorneys and agencies, and responding to questions from member and applicant attorneys. Additional tasks include fiscal review, marketing to attorneys and the public, review of  practice areas and policies and procedures while working with the LRIS committee.

Lawyer Referral & Information Service, Coordinator
Shannan D. Deemie

Responsibilities:
Assist the Lawyer Referral and Information Service (LRIS) Director, the LRIS Panel and the General Public with all matters related to the Lawyer Referral and Information Service.  Daily tasks include answering phone and email inquiries from the public and referring to attorneys and agencies, and responding to questions from member and applicant attorneys.

Legal Placement Services, Director
Jennifer A. Macke, Esq.

Responsibilities:
Provides permanent legal support staff and attorney placement services to member law firms and in-house legal departments; recruits candidates through print publications and web-based advertisements; reviews resumes of legal professionals; conducts interviews with candidates; proctors clerical testing. Collaborates with hiring attorneys and legal administrators on a daily basis regarding current hiring needs and submits resumes of qualified applicants.  Schedules interviews between the employer and prospective candidate.  Performs detailed reference checks on potential applicants.  Advises law firms and in-house legal departments on local salary ranges.  Responsible for having knowledge of the St. Louis metropolitan legal community, i.e. law firm administrators, BAMSL member attorneys, legal associations, and education facilities involved in offering training or degrees in the legal field.
