Sources for the Media
As a local voluntary bar association, BAMSL may not take a position on issues that might be divisive to its membership. However, BAMSL does have a role in ensuring that lawyers and members of the public know about important legal issues.

In that regard, we offer the media and public a long list of volunteer members willing to speak on key issues within their expertise. With more than 6,000 St. Louis lawyers across 20 different practice areas -- such as health, real estate and labor -- BAMSL can provide you with the most knowledgeable legal experts in the Midwest. We also will work hard to help you meet your deadline.

To request interview sources or for additonal information, contact the Communications Director, Janet Frain, at 314/421-4134 or e-mail her at jfrain@bamsl.org.

Publications
BAMSL offers a number of publications that may be useful to the media, including our monthly magazine, St. Louis Lawyer and the St. Louis Bar Journal. You may download a free copy in .PDF format.

In addition, The Missouri Bar offers an online version of its Missouri Media Law Handbook, a guide for journalists, lawyers, and others who seek guidance and information regarding Missouri media law, and the News Reporters Handbook on Law and Courts, particularly helpful to members of the press who cover local law issues. It contains information on local legal organizations, updated listings of courts and judges, descriptions of the different areas of law, a glossary of legal terms and more.
